Faux Finishes

The word “faux” is French, meaning a falsehood or forgery. Faux finishing is the method of painting fake representations of real materials. Many  textures are created by rags, sponges, brushes, newspaper, and wide assortment of  other tools.

The representations of different materials sometimes can fool the untrained eye into thinking it is the actual substance.
